I'm a Vineman
I'm back from Sonoma County today after finishing yesterday's Vineman.
Good golly - that race was nearly more than I bargained for. Killer heat. Killer run course. All of which left me pretty much dead.
Here's the executive summary: Finish time was 11:02. Unofficially, I came in 17th place overall, and 2nd place in age group. It's a slower time than I would have predicted, but I'll take it.
And before you ask - no, I couldn't have just gone three minutes faster.
As usual, I'm planning to have a full race report posted here by midweek sometime. Until then, I'm off to get some much needed rest.

Wow! You rock! Congratulations iron-vineman! (I read that you can be an ironman with a lowercase "i") That is an awesome time and a huge undertaking. Way to go!
What? 11 hours for an Ironm ... long-distance triathlon? You rocked that course, congratulations. What a result! That's outstanding, unreal!
Congrats Donald- awesome time, especially in that HEAT! I've done the 1/2 vineman several times and always remember about midway thru the run thinking that anyone doing the full vineman in that kind of heat was nuts!!
Of course, I mean nuts in a good way. ;-) Can't wait to read your full report. Enjoy the R&R my friend, well-deserved.
